• The incident occurred at Emusali during a NEMA-convened forum discussing the proposed Isulu-Bushangala underground mining project.
• Residents had earlier protested along the Sigalagala-Musoli Road, voicing concerns about potential land evictions, insufficient compensation, and environmental impacts of mining.
