Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) has assured Kenyans of stable electricity supply during the festive season, stemming from robust output from its Seven Forks hydro cascade. This ensures abundant and low-cost renewable electricity despite volatile global energy prices.

• Total hydro generation from the system stood at 473.14MW against an installed capacity of 600.4MW as of December 8.
• Eng. Peter Njenga, Managing Director and CEO of KenGen, highlighted that major water reservoirs like Masinga Dam (1,054.49 meters) are operating safely within optimal ranges.
• These healthy reservoir levels signal sustained generation capacity, reflecting Kenya’s discipline in resource management and a long-term view of national energy security.
