Kisii County Governor Simba Arati and Kakamega County Governor Fernandes Barasa have jointly secured the top position in the latest County Governance Performance Index, each scoring an impressive 65.0 per cent. Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru followed closely with 63.2 per cent.

• The index drew public perception from a nationwide survey of 13,144 respondents and fiscal data from the Office of the Controller of Budget.
• Governors were evaluated across four pillars: service delivery (35 per cent), fiscal stewardship (15 per cent), economic development (15 per cent), and overall governance and leadership (25 per cent).
• Other top performers include Homabay County boss Gladys Wanga (61.8 per cent) and Isiolo County boss Abdi Ibrahim Guyo (60.9 per cent).
