President William Ruto has announced the deployment of advanced AI-enabled cameras, drones, and aerial surveillance systems to protect the newly expanded Tsavo West Rhino Sanctuary, now the largest rhino sanctuary globally. This initiative aims to safeguard the endangered black rhino population, with Kenya hosting nearly 78 percent of the world’s remaining Eastern Black Rhinos.

• Kenya has invested over $4.7 million (Ksh. 607 million) through the Kenya Rhino Range Expansion initiative to enhance Tsavo’s protection capacity.
• President Ruto stated that the expansion addresses congestion that previously threatened the species, with over 80 percent of Kenya's Black Rhinos living in overcrowded sanctuaries.
• The project is projected to create over 18,000 jobs and generate more than $45 million (Ksh. 6 billion) in conservancy and tourism revenue by 2030.
