Kenya Power addressed a widespread power outage on Tuesday evening, December 9, attributing it to a disturbance on the regional Kenya-Uganda interconnected power network.

• The outage, which occurred around 7:15 pm, affected regions including North Rift, parts of Western, South Nyanza, and Central Rift, encompassing areas like Eldoret, Nandi, Kitale, Nakuru, Naivasha, and sections of Nairobi (Ridgeways, Kasarani).
• Kenya Power confirmed most areas regained electricity within approximately 30 minutes, though Eldoret and surrounding areas remained without supply.
• This incident follows recent power rationing, as acknowledged by President William Ruto on November 5, due to power shortages requiring Ksh1 trillion to boost capacity.
