- KENQRF 5 conducted a patrol into Mayimoya village, located 23 kilometres northeast of their main base, on December 10, 2025, to protect civilians and deter armed groups.
- The patrol comes after Rwanda accused the DRC and Burundian armies of violating the Washington Accords on December 10, 2025.
- The peace agreement was signed on December 4 between Rwandan President Paul Kagame and DRC President Félix Tshisekedi, witnessed by President William Ruto.
- Rwanda criticized the Congolese Army (FARDC) and Burundian Army (FDNB) for systematic bombing of civilian villages near the Rwandan border and accused the FDNB of amassing close to 20,000 troops in South Kivu.
