Pan-Africanist PLO Lumumba has traveled to Nyeri to support 22-year-old Truphena Muthoni in her 72-hour tree-hugging marathon as she attempts to break a Guinness World Record for environmental conservation awareness.

• Lumumba visited Truphena Muthoni at the Nyeri Governor's office on December 10, 2025.
• Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua also endorsed Muthoni's effort, stating he is "proud" of her conservation resolve.
• Bonfire Adventure CEO Simon Kabu and his daughter Maurine Kabu gifted Truphena Muthoni a 3-day holiday at the coast.
• At the 48-hour mark, Muthoni hugged the tree blindfolded for nearly three hours, advocating for disabled persons' protection from climate injustices.
