Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has retaliated against former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who accused him of conspiring with President William Ruto to manipulate the Mbeere North by-election. Gachagua alleged that Kuria undermined his political influence by getting his dropped candidate to run on Kuria's party ticket, which he claimed influenced votes away from his preferred candidate.

• In the by-election, President Ruto's UDA candidate, Leo Wa Muthende, won with 15,802 votes.
• Newton Kariuki, from the Democratic Party (DP), came in second with 15,308 votes.
• Moses Kuria's Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) party candidate, Duncan Mbui, garnered 2,480 votes.
