The Ministry of Water and Irrigation has partnered with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) to enhance Kenya's water management systems, improve irrigation efficiency, and bolster national food security.

• The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Irrigation Principal Secretary Ephantus Kimotho and IWMI's East Africa Representative Abdulkharim Seid.
• The partnership aims to advance Kenya's irrigation priorities by leveraging technical expertise and innovative investment models, accelerating interventions under the National Irrigation Sector Investment Plan (NISIP).
• Key initiatives include developing a sustainable irrigation water tariff, a crucial gap in sector regulation, and promoting climate-smart agriculture with research-based evidence from across the Global South.
