The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has successfully recovered a 0.13-acre parcel of land in Mombasa City, valued at Ksh21 million, that was fraudulently allocated to individuals. This land was originally designated for the expansion of Tom Mboya Avenue.

• Justice Stephen Kibunja of the Environment and Land Court cancelled the title deed, deeming all transactions fraudulent since the 1990s.
• The land was first allocated to a businessman via an irregular allotment letter on January 24, 1996, despite no formal application.
• This case follows another recovery in October of public land valued at Ksh30 million in Nyali, Mombasa, after a 12-year legal battle, also involving fraudulent allocation by the then Commissioner of Lands on January 19, 1996.
