Purity Nkatha, a once homeless mother, has defied immense hardships and chronic illness to graduate from the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) at the age of 32, fulfilling her dream of becoming a medic.

• Nkatha sat for her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations at 32 years old after a childhood marked by instability and poverty.
• She battled Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), a severe autoimmune condition, during her studies, even taking exams directly from hospital wards.
• Her journey involved leaving her four-year-old daughter to pursue her education, supported by friends, well-wishers, and the community at KMTC.
