Graduation festivities at Victory International Church in Mombasa were abruptly halted after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) shut down an illegal degree-awarding operation. Six individuals linked to Menorah Training Institute and Dominion Mission Theological University Global were arrested for offering unaccredited academic qualifications.

• Six suspects, including the institution's president Daniel Dela, were arrested.
• The institutions were awarding master's and bachelor's degrees, despite being only authorized to offer courses up to diploma level by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA).
• Five individuals were listed to graduate with master's degrees, and 17 others were scheduled to receive degree certificates.
