The family of a Nairobi-based taxi driver, Pius Ngugi, is appealing for public assistance after he disappeared on December 5 following a customer request through an online taxi-hailing application.

• Ngugi's mobile phone was last traced to the Gilan Estate area of Athi River in Machakos County before being switched off.
• His vehicle, a Toyota Vitz, has also not been recovered.
• Investigators from the DCI are awaiting critical information from taxi-hailing companies to reconstruct his final trip.
