BasiGo has inaugurated its third Shell-hosted electric vehicle (EV) charging station at the revamped Shell Athi River service station, significantly expanding Kenya’s e-mobility infrastructure.
- The new station at Athi River is equipped with chargers that can charge up to four buses simultaneously using one CCS2 fast charger with two guns and one GBT charger with two guns.
- BasiGo Kenya Managing Director Moses Nderitu stated that the new site addresses a critical barrier to e-mobility adoption and expands electric mobility beyond Nairobi.
- The facility will primarily serve buses on the Kitengela route, including fleets from Rembo Classic and Enabled Mashariki Sacco, marking a crucial step for electric public transport and commercial fleets.
