The African Union Commission (AUC) Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf has bid farewell to Kenya's Ambassador George Orina, marking the end of his tenure as Permanent Representative to the African Union in Addis Ababa.

• Ambassador Orina was commended for his steadfast engagement in AU deliberations, particularly his leadership as Chair of the Permanent Representatives’ Committee (PRC) Subcommittee on Budgetary, Financial and Administrative Matters.
• His departure is part of sweeping changes in Kenya's Foreign Service announced by President William Ruto on August 15.
• Ambassador Orina has been redeployed to Dublin, Ireland, and will be succeeded by Ambassador Galma Mukhe Boru.
