The Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) has accused the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) of failing to implement promises made by President William Ruto to teachers, including welfare improvements and employment terms.

• KUPPET Secretary General Akelo Misori stated that TSC has done "very little" to actualize commitments made when the President hosted over 10,000 teachers at State House on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
• Key unfulfilled promises include a shorter Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) cycle of two to three years, 205 affordable housing units, and the hiring of unemployed teachers aged 45 and above.
• Misori also highlighted that TSC reportedly failed to submit a funding request to Parliament for the promotion of an additional 25,000 teachers, and the promised conversion of 20,000 JSS teachers to permanent terms by year-end is now in doubt, with contracts renewed for another year.
