- The KDF has been under AUSSOM since January 2025, tasked with stabilising Somalia, degrading Al-Shabaab, and building the capacity of Somali security forces, primarily in Sector Two.
- Activities include renovating the Dhobley Airstrip, training Jubaland Security Forces (JSF) recruits, and conducting extensive Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activities like medical outreach and distributing learning materials.
- The KDF's Special Boat Unit (SBU) ensures maritime safety, and troops protect key population centres and infrastructure, contributing to regional peacekeeping and humanitarian support.
