An 85-year-old man, Mzee James Olwal Obongo, died after a bee attack in Magare village, Homa Bay Town, while his wife, son, and grandson sustained injuries attempting to rescue him.

• Mzee James Olwal Obongo was attacked by a swarm of bees on his way home from a church event.
• His family members, including his wife Siprosa Anyango, son Kennedy Omondi, and his grandson, were injured.
• The injured family members were treated and discharged from Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital.
