Residents of Lang’ata, Nairobi, will now enjoy a reliable water supply after Nairobi Governor Sakaja Johnson commissioned a new 3.2-kilometer water pipeline, marking the first major infrastructure extension in over a decade for the area.
- The Kshs 67 million project is expected to deliver up to 20 million litres of water per day to over 180,000 people.
- Implemented by the Nairobi City County Government through the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company, the pipeline runs from Galleria Mall to Lang’ata Women Prison.
- The project will benefit numerous residential areas and key institutions, including Kenya Wildlife Service facilities, Lang’ata Barracks, and St. Mary’s Hospital, among others.
