A National Police Reserve (NPR) officer has been arrested in Meru County, Kenya, in connection with a series of robberies, including a December 19, 2025 robbery with violence at Kirindini Shopping Centre. The suspect revealed the location of a buried AK-47 rifle used in the robbery.

An AK-47 rifle and a magazine with two rounds of 7.62 x 39 mm ammunition were recovered.
The suspect's official government-issued G3 rifle was also confiscated.
The arrest was a joint operation by detectives from Igembe South, Igembe North, and Mutuati sub-counties.
