Following a Citizen TV exposé, the Ministry of Health has implemented strict measures to regulate the sale of Sildenafil, commonly known as the Blue Pill or Viagra.

• Health Principal Secretary Mary Muthoni announced that the drug is now strictly prescription-only and will not be sold over the counter.
• The Ministry of Health will introduce a monitoring system requiring pharmacies to document and report all sales of prescription medicines to customers.
• Frequent audits and inspections of pharmacies will be conducted to review prescription records and ensure compliance, following the Citizen TV documentary 'Blues and Death' which exposed abuse of sexual performance-enhancing drugs.
