Clinical officers in Kenya are set to begin a nationwide strike at midnight on Monday, December 22, 2025, after their 21-day strike notice expired. The strike, announced by the Kenya Union of Clinical Officers (KUCO), stems from unresolved, long-standing disputes with the Ministry of Health and county governments regarding collective bargaining agreements and pay structures.

• George Gibore, General Secretary and CEO of KUCO, accused the government of failing to honor a Return-to-Work Agreement signed on July 8, 2025, and another pact from July 27, 2024.
• KUCO demands the signing and implementation of a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), full implementation of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission's (SRC) reviewed pay structure, and the absorption of all contracted health personnel.
