The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a weather advisory predicting moderate to heavy rains across several regions of Kenya from December 23 to December 27, including on Christmas Day.

• Heavy rains with thunderstorms were expected in parts of the Lake Basin, Rift Valley, and Western Kenya on Tuesday, December 23, before decreasing in intensity.
• Regions forecasted to receive rain include Central Kenya, Western, Lake Victoria region, Rift Valley, and parts of the Coastal region.
• Central Kenya counties, including Nairobi, are also expected to experience very cold nights with temperatures dropping to 5°C.
• Conversely, some parts of the Lake Victoria basin, Western, and Rift Valley regions could see high daytime temperatures reaching up to 32°C.
• Other areas, particularly the South Eastern Lowlands and North Eastern region, are expected to remain sunny and dry.
