The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has flagged over 400 vehicle owners for traffic violations, risking licence suspensions and revocations. This crackdown, part of festive season compliance checks, has identified 1,702 safety violations in just four days, leading to several fatal accidents.

• 42 drivers arrested and 418 vehicles clamped for non-compliance.
• Violations include absence of speed limiters, drunken driving, unroadworthy vehicles, and operating without a licence.
• On December 23, 2025, 16 crashes resulted in 25 lives lost, predominantly pedestrians and passengers.
