Kenya has successfully shipped its inaugural consignment of Apple mangoes to the United Kingdom, marking a significant advancement in the nation's horticultural exports and opening a valuable premium market during the festive season. This achievement confirms Kenya's adherence to the UK’s stringent phytosanitary and food safety standards.

• The UK imports approximately 81,000 tonnes of fresh mangoes annually.
• Apple mangoes now constitute over 80 percent of Kenya’s mango production.
• This milestone was facilitated under the UK-funded Regional Economic Development and Trade Investment Programme, implemented by TradeMark Africa in partnership with the Government of Kenya.
