South Korea’s special counsel has indicted former impeached president Yoon Suk-yeol for violating the political funds act. He is accused of illegally receiving free opinion polls in collaboration with his wife.

• 270 million won (185,630 U.S. dollars) in free opinion polls were allegedly received between June 2021 and March 2022.
• The indictment stems from an investigation led by independent counsel Min Joong-ki.
• Myung Tae-kyun, a self-proclaimed political broker, was also indicted for providing the free opinion polls.
