Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has denied claims that the Kiganjo Police Training College will be relocated from Nyeri to the North Rift. Despite plans to establish new multi-agency training centers in the region, Kiganjo's existing location is secure.

• Murkomen clarified that while new training facilities will be established in disturbed areas to provide field-based practical training, these are not meant to replace Kiganjo.
• The National Police Service (NPS) is revising its training curriculum to integrate forensics, modern technology, and cybercrime detection from the initial stages.
• Plans are underway to establish a National Police University, with Kiganjo becoming one of its campuses, aiming to enhance police training and professionalism beyond the current 9-month basic course.
