The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) has issued an urgent public alert regarding the circulation of falsified IBRANCE® (palbociclib), a breast cancer medication, in global markets, urging Kenyans to be vigilant to prevent its entry into the country.

• Nine falsified batches of IBRANCE® have been identified by the World Health Organization (WHO).
• The counterfeit products claim to be manufactured by Pfizer and often contain no active pharmaceutical ingredient, posing a serious health risk.
• The PPB confirmed that, as of now, none of these falsified batches have been detected in the Kenyan market.
