Police in Kisii have launched a manhunt for a notorious youth gang behind a wave of brutal machete and knife attacks, resulting in one death and several injuries. The gang, operating on an unregistered motorcycle, has created a climate of fear, especially during the holiday season.

• Phaminus Ongera, a 23-year-old Kisii Polytechnic graduate, is one notable victim who suffered severe machete cuts to his head and stab wounds to his thighs.
• The attacks have been reported across various areas including Nyanchwa, Egesa, Jogoo, Upper Hill, and Daraja Moja.
• Kisii Central OCPD Musa Omari urged the public to make formal complaints to assist investigations and swift arrests.
