A 41-year-old man, Matende Regan, died by suicide in a police cell at Tongoi Police Station in Nyandarua County after being brought in by his family for causing a disturbance. An investigation has been launched into the incident.

• He was placed in a cell alone after being brought to the Tongoi Police Station by his father, David Matende, along with other family members.
• The deceased's body was moved to Coptic Hospital Mortuary for a post-mortem examination, and the T-shirt was preserved as evidence for the ongoing investigation.
