The Kenyan Ministry of Interior has issued a travel advisory to parents and guardians regarding school re-openings, following a rise in road accidents during the holiday period. The advisory urges safe travel practices for students returning to school.

• Parents are advised to ensure children use recognised and properly registered vehicles, including school buses and public transport from registered SACCOs.
• The advisory follows a recent accident on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway where 9 people lost their lives after a Greenline bus collided with a Nanyuki Cabs shuttle.
• Students are encouraged to travel early, avoid late-night journeys, and refrain from "bad company" or "unlawful substance use" while travelling.
