Fifty Kenyans will receive free laparoscopic surgeries in Nairobi in January 2026, performed by a team of specialist surgeons from Mumbai, India. This initiative is part of a visit by the Dawoodi Bohra Community's Spiritual Leader, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin.

• 50 free laparoscopic operations are scheduled for January 13 and 14, 2026.
• The surgeries will take place at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) and Kenyatta University Teaching, Research, and Referral Hospital (KUTTRH).
• The visiting team of surgeons is led by Dr. Mufazzal Lakdawalla.
• Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale met with leaders of the Dawoodi Bohra Community, including Koserali Najmuddin, to coordinate the exercise.
• This program aims to facilitate skills transfer to local medical professionals and strengthen capacity in specialized care, supporting the Ministry of Health's Universal Health Coverage (UHC) agenda.
