Intra-African trade has reached a record $220.3 billion (Sh28.5 trillion) in 2024, yet experts warn that slow implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), weak infrastructure, and remaining tariffs could undermine its full potential.

• Intra-African trade surged by approximately 12.4 percent from the previous year, but still accounts for only 15 to 18 percent of Africa's total trade.
