At least 31 Kenyans have died in road accidents within the first six days of 2026. Eight more lives were lost on Tuesday in separate crashes in Kericho and Baringo counties, adding to the grim toll.

• Six people died in Kericho County on Tuesday when a Uwezo Company bus carrying 64 passengers rammed into a trailer, with 25 survivors receiving treatment at Kericho County Referral Hospital.
• One of the bus's co-drivers, Samuel Magambo, suggested the driver might have fallen asleep, while passengers, including Rosemary Adeke, alleged speeding and reckless driving.
• In Baringo County, a boda boda rider and his passenger died in a collision with a trailer, and in Kimende, Kiambu County, 45 students narrowly escaped death after their bus overturned, with ten hospitalized at Kijabe Hospital.
