Maurice Ogeta, a former bodyguard of the late Prime Minister Raila Odinga, has been appointed as Advisor, Security Affairs for Mombasa County by Governor Abdulswamad Nassir.

The appointment was made on Thursday, following the establishment of the position by the Mombasa County Public Service Board.
Governor Nassir cited Ogeta's "extensive experience and expertise" as the reason for the appointment.
Ken Ambani was also appointed as Advisor on Creative Arts for Mombasa County.
The appointments were announced shortly after delayed celebrations of Odinga's 81st posthumous birthday in Mombasa County.
