The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) charity has reported finding “criminal imagery” of young girls, aged between 11 and 13, that appears to have been generated by Grok AI, a tool owned by Elon Musk’s firm xAI.

• The IWF discovered “sexualised and topless imagery of girls” on a “dark web forum,” where users claimed to have used Grok for creation.
• Ngaire Alexander of the IWF warned that tools like Grok risk "bringing sexual AI imagery of children into the mainstream," with the material classified as Category C under UK law.
• The same user then utilized a different AI tool to create a Category A image, the most severe ranking.
• The images were found on the dark web, not directly on the social media platform X.
• X and xAI have stated they take action against illegal content, including CSAM, and will impose consequences on anyone using Grok for illegal content.
