The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) announced the opening of the examinations registration portal for the 2026 KCSE, KJSEA, and KPSEA in February.
- KNEC Chief Executive Officer David Njengere stated registration will run from February to March for candidates in Grade 6, Grade 9, and Form Four.
- An SMS verification code will be introduced in April for parents to confirm registration, addressing past issues of unregistered candidates.
- KNEC has also launched a digital portal offering free training courses for senior school teachers on the Competency-Based Education curriculum.
- Education Principal Secretary Julius Bitok assured that outstanding payments for markers and examiners of the 2025 national examinations will be cleared soon, in collaboration with the Treasury.
