Furniture workshop traders in Ngurubani town, Mwea Constituency, Kirinyaga County, are facing significant losses after a fierce fire destroyed their workshops early Saturday morning, around 1am. The blaze completely consumed furniture belonging to four traders, with residents criticizing the delayed response and alleged mechanical issues of the fire department.

• Martin Mwaura, a Ngurubani resident, was among the first to witness the fire and raise the alarm.
