A 50-year-old Homa Bay man, George Ochieng Okumu, is celebrating a unique academic achievement after scoring a D+ in the 2025 KCSE examinations, 34 years after completing his KCPE in 1992.

• Okumu achieved a D+ in the 2025 KCSE, marking a return to formal education decades after his 1992 KCPE.
• He sat for the examinations alongside his second-born son, Brennon Arsen Ochieng, who scored a mean grade of B (minus) from Orero Boys High School.
• Okumu was inspired by his son to resume his studies and encouraged others to register for examinations before the 8-4-4 education system concludes.
