Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has accused President William Ruto of a new plan to destabilize the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party by encouraging key figures to demand leadership roles or form new parties.

• Gachagua alleged that Ruto instructed Mining Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho and Co-operatives CS Wycliffe Oparanya to challenge for ODM leadership or establish their own parties.
• He also defended former President Uhuru Kenyatta, refuting claims linking him to internal ODM battles and urging the party not to attack Kenyatta.
• The allegations come amidst ongoing leadership disputes within ODM and calls for a National Delegates Committee (NDC) to address infighting, especially after some Coast leaders demanded Joho be named ODM party leader.
