Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo has dismissed former Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo's declaration to contest the presidency in 2027, calling it "hot air" and "politically unrealistic" without the backing of a major party.

• Millie Odhiambo believes Owalo's presidential bid is a "fool’s errand" unless he aligns with a dominant political outfit like the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
• She suggested that Owalo's declaration might be a "political springboard" for other ambitions, such as a gubernatorial position in Siaya or MP for Rarieda.
• Owalo announced his bid during the 106th commemoration of his grandfather, Prophet Johanna Owalo, the founder of the Nomiya Church.
