The Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) has issued a warning against its former Chief Executive Officer, Ezekiel Mutua, for allegedly continuing to misrepresent himself as the CEO despite being dismissed and having the decision upheld by court rulings. The MCSK Board of Directors urged the public to avoid transacting any business with Mutua on behalf of the society, stating they would not be liable for any losses.

• Mutua was dismissed on April 3, 2025, a decision affirmed by two High Court rulings in May 2025.
• A Sh27.6 million salary increment awarded to Mutua was declared irregular, unlawful, and unconstitutional by the State Corporations Appeal Tribunal in July 2025.
• The MCSK board highlighted that the salary increase from Sh348,840 to Sh1,115,850 lacked approval from the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
