The Nanyuki Municipal Board has implemented an immediate ban on motor vehicles and motorcycles with modified exhausts exceeding 84 decibels and unauthorized illuminating systems within Nanyuki municipality, effective January 5.

• The ban targets "rogue motorists" and "boda boda operators" using loud exhausts and flashy lights, aiming to reduce noise pollution and improve road safety.
• The directive was issued under Article 184 of the Constitution, the Urban Areas and Cities Act, the Environmental Management and Co-ordination Act (EMCA) 1999, the Traffic Act (Cap 403), and National Transport and Safety Authority regulations.
• Enforcement teams will conduct spot checks and arrests, with non-compliant vehicles being impounded until ruled compliant.
