✨ Key Highlights

The Council for Legal Education (CLE) has announced that the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program licenses for University of Nairobi (UoN) and Moi University, amongst others, expired in December 2025. Renewal applications for these institutions are currently under review.

  • CLE confirmed on January 13, 2026, that licenses for UoN’s Parklands Campus and Moi University School of Law lapsed on December 10, 2025.
  • Chuka University, African Nazarene University, and UMMA University are also operating with expired LLB licenses.
  • Only four universities were approved to run Master of Laws (LLM) programmes, and 16 universities hold fully licensed LLB degrees.
