The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has launched a free online training portal for teachers to enhance their skills in Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) methods. This initiative aims to standardize assessment practices across Kenya, particularly for senior school teachers.

• The training is self-paced and accessible via the KNEC portal, requiring teachers to register and complete a profile.
• KNEC CEO David Njegere announced the initiative, which covers critical areas such as assessment design, item writing, rubric construction, and portfolio management.
• Upon completion, teachers will receive a KNEC CBA micro-credential, and optional in-person reinforcement is available at county Assessment Hubs.
