Police in Mbale, Vihiga County, are investigating the shocking discovery of two decomposing bodies found in a septic tank just metres from the Mbale Police Station.

• The bodies, believed to be those of a man and a woman, were found on Tuesday morning by members of the public.
• One body was identified by his family as Humphrey Baranga, who had been missing since December 24.
• The incident has raised serious questions about security, as it occurred very close to a police station.
