The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has recommended the suspension of a senior government official over alleged corruption and unexplained wealth estimated at approximately Ksh1 billion. The EACC sent a letter dated January 12, 2026, to the Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Hanna Cheptumo, urging the suspension of the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) Chief Executive Officer for six months.

The CEO is being investigated for alleged violations including unexplained wealth, abuse of office, conflict of interest, and money laundering.
EACC detectives conducted court-sanctioned searches at the official's residence and office on January 8, 2026, recovering "incriminating" documents.
The probe also targets alleged procurement irregularities linked to the CEO's previous role as Head of Procurement at the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC).
