The year 2025 has been confirmed as the third-warmest year on record, with global temperatures signaling that the planet is heating up faster than previously anticipated, according to a recent report.

• In 2025, the global average temperature was 14.97 degrees Celsius, just 0.13 degrees Celsius cooler than the warmest year on record, 2024.
• The EU-funded Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) reported that for the first time, global temperatures for the past three years (2023-2025) have averaged more than 1.5 degrees Celsius above the pre-industrial level (1850-1900), breaching a critical threshold of the Paris Agreement.
• Director Carlo Buontempo of the C3S stated, “The world is rapidly approaching the long-term temperature limit set by the Paris Agreement. We are bound to pass it.”
