The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) is enhancing defence ties with India after a strategic meeting in Nairobi on Tuesday, January 13, to prepare for a Joint Defence Cooperation Committee (JDCC) meeting later this year.

• Discussions focused on joint military training, defence industry cooperation, medical training, and border security management.
• The Indian delegation was led by Indian defence attaché to Kenya, Navy Captain Velagada Shirdikant, while the KDF's Colonel Benson Karuimbo represented Kenya.
• This collaboration deepens a partnership established by a 2016 MoU and a 2019 JDCC formation, aiming to advance defence cooperation and address shared security challenges.
