The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has authorized its leader, President William Ruto, to begin formal coalition talks with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) in preparation for the 2027 General Election.
- The UDA National Executive Committee (NEC) cited existing cooperation, including the adoption of the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) Report of 2024, as reasons for pursuing a structured pre-election agreement.
- The UDA NEC also reviewed recent grassroots elections across 20 counties, which saw 492,439 candidates contest for 231,770 seats with participation from 2,400,000 party members.
- Repeat elections have been ordered for polling centers with inadequate voter participation within 30 days.
